Linda Blair’s California Animal Rescue Property Searched During Kennel Investigation
Actress Linda Blair is responding after Los Angeles County officials searched her Southern California property as part of an ongoing investigation into a reported kennel operation.
The inspection took place on Friday, July 31, following an inspection warrant executed by the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning. Authorities said the operation was aimed at inspecting buildings and facilities connected to a kennel reportedly housing more than 100 dogs.
Why Officials Searched the Property
According to county officials, the property's kennel permits expired in 2023. Authorities also stated that repeated attempts to contact the property owner regarding permit compliance had gone unanswered.
The inspection warrant allowed officials to enter the property and determine whether the kennel was operating in accordance with county regulations. During the visit, investigators focused on evaluating animal welfare, housing conditions, and overall safety for both the animals and anyone living or working on the property.
Officials emphasized that their primary concern was ensuring the dogs were receiving proper care and that the facility met legal and humane standards.
No Dogs Removed During the Inspection
Reports indicate that Blair was present throughout the inspection and fully cooperated with authorities. No dogs were removed from the property during the visit, and the investigation remains ongoing.

She explained that the issues appeared to involve paperwork and property documentation rather than concerns about the animals themselves. Blair also shared that she is planning to relocate her rescue operation so she can expand her educational efforts and continue helping more animals in need.
In her message, she encouraged people to support animal rescue organizations, saying that everyone involved in rescue work shares the common goal of saving animals' lives.

Beyond her acting career, Blair has spent decades dedicated to animal welfare. In 2003, she established the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding homes for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals.
