Connor Michael Murphy Dies at 32 After Drowning in Thailand Lake Following Erratic Behavior

Murphy, a Texas-born bodybuilder and YouTuber with more than 2.3 million subscribers, was widely known for his fitness content, viral social media stunts, and dramatic physical transformation that made him a recognizable figure in the online "looksmaxxing" community.
What Happened?
According to Thai police, Murphy arrived at a luxury housing estate in Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province, in a hired vehicle. Witnesses said he appeared to be acting unusually from the moment he arrived.
A security guard told investigators that Murphy first attempted to give his driver a 1,000-baht tip, which the driver reportedly refused after noticing his strange behavior. He then approached a passing vehicle and asked for a ride into the estate. When the request was unsuccessful, Murphy allegedly became increasingly distressed, shouting loudly, rolling on the pavement, and raising his hands as if praying.
Police officers were called to the scene, but before they could intervene, Murphy suddenly ran toward a nearby lake and jumped into the water.
Rescue Efforts
Witnesses said Murphy continued swimming for several minutes before appearing exhausted and disappearing beneath the surface. Because the lake was believed to be more than 10 meters (33 feet) deep, bystanders were unable to safely attempt a rescue.
Emergency divers arrived and searched the lake for approximately 30 minutes before recovering his body around 20 meters (66 feet) from the shoreline.
Authorities reported no visible signs of assault on the body. An autopsy and toxicology examination have been ordered to determine the exact cause of death and whether any substances may have played a role.
Luxury Rental Home Found Damaged
Following the incident, investigators searched Murphy's rented lakeside home and found extensive damage throughout the property.
Police said black and yellow paint had been splashed across walls, furniture, floors, and electrical appliances.
The homeowner, identified only as Ms. View, said the house was worth approximately 22 million baht and had been rented to Murphy and his 22-year-old girlfriend for 35,000 baht per month. The couple had lived there for only three months.
She described herself as devastated by the condition of the property, saying she had carefully selected the tenants and never expected such extensive damage.
Girlfriend Speaks Out
Murphy's girlfriend, identified only as Bee, told investigators that she had been asleep in another room while the damage occurred overnight.
She said the couple had been together for about three years but had spent much of that time living separately due to relationship difficulties. They had resumed living together less than three months before the incident.
According to Bee, Murphy appeared completely normal before Tuesday's events and had never shown similar behavior or experienced any known mental health problems. She also stated that she had never seen him use illegal drugs while they were living together.
Ongoing Investigation
Police later searched Murphy's vehicle and discovered two unused syringes and several unidentified white pills inside a waist bag. Authorities emphasized that toxicology tests are still pending and no conclusions have been reached regarding the cause of his behavior.
Investigators also confirmed they will notify the U.S. Embassy in Thailand as the investigation continues.
